Notice about the Battery Law

The following information is for those that use batteries and don't sell them (End Users):

1. Returning used batteries free of charge
Batteries may not be disposed of via household waste. You are legally obligated to return used batteries. As retailers of batteries we are obligated to take back used batteries (with the exception of products containing used batteries), but only such batteries which we sell currently or have sold in the past, and only in such amounts that end users usually dispose of. Therefore you may either post us your used batteries with sufficient postage, or you return them personally, free of charge to the following address:

2. Meaning of the battery symbols


batterie_muellBatteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed out waste bin.  Batteries containing pollutants are furthermore marked with chemical symbols.
Batteries containing more than 0,0005 percent by mass of mercury, more than 0,002 percent by mass of cadmium or more than 0,004 percent by mass of lead, have the chemical symbol of the respective element below the waste bin symbol.

Pb = battery contains more than 0,004 percent by mass of lead
Cd = battery contains more than 0,002 percent by mass than cadmium
Hg = battery contains more than 0,0005 percent by mass than mercury.
