The choice of battery for your board doesn't only influence range. It influences the ride quality as well.
Lithium battery(packs) are named with S and P values. The S value states how many cells of the battery run in Series and determines the voltage of the battery pack. The P value indicates how many of those "S-packages" are connected in Parallel.
Example: 6S2P = 12 battery cells, 2 strands of 6 cells connected in series are connected in parallel.
The higher the S value, the higher the voltage, the higher the p value, the bigger the capacity.
Another value important to battery packs is the c-rating. This represents how much current you can use to charge / discharge (use) the battery. The C value is linked to the Capacity. A battery pack with a capacity of 5000 mAh and 1C can be charged with 5000 mA = 5 Amps of current. The same battery pack with 5C can be charged with 25 Amps of current.
